The Storm

There was darkness all around. The cold rain seeped into my thin cloths. The wind penetrating my shirt as if nothing was there. The wet cotton flapping against my skin, in rhythm with the wind. The air freezing the water to my back. This may seem bad at first, but once I got over the first initial shock, it was fine.

I take a deep breath. The wild cool air fill my lungs, then it leaves taking my warmth with it. But not just my warmth. Everything. It all just funnels out of my mind. Leaving my head clear. I take another deep breath. The air enters, not quite so harsh this time, but still having the effect. My mind is clear. I can see clearly. My heart is soft. The rain can shape me. My body is at peace. The cold cannot harm me. My soul… is reborn. Though the storm controls the elements, it will not control me.

I have been given another chance. I will face the storm head on in battle. I will vanquish that which brings darkness. I will use the bait it has tempted me with. Only I will use them against it. I will not fall, I will not succumb, I will not rest. For idleness weakens the mighty, and loss weakens the strong. I will find victory. I will reap of the glory. I will release the light within me.
