Hallmark

The definition of hallmark is Perfect. So why are so many love movies considered, “Hallmark”. I mean other than the fact that there is an actual company named Hallmark. But even then, they make romance movies. So why hallmark, why and how is it perfect. Because it’s not.

I look around and I see a butterfly,

Flying proud and strong.

For this butterfly was beautiful,

And I know I’m not wrong.

It seem perfect,

It was in such bliss.

But what my eyes didn’t see,

My heart also missed.

This butterfly was hurt,

It had no direction of where it went.

But all the same,

It’s mind and heart did never rend.

And that is why it never crashed,

Why it never lost it’s way.

It may have been damaged on the outside,

But it’s heart, mind, and wings were there to stay.

Hallmark, “the perfect romance” does not exist, but a perfect love does. Which may seem easy to have, but perfect love for another person is hard, probably the hardest thing a person can do. For me, the hardest things to get, are the things worth keeping. I don’t know what it’s like to have a perfect Romantic love for another. But I do know what it’s like to have a perfect Love for another. It’s when your little nephew wants to help you, and you can’t help but smile because you let him, and now he’s happier than ever. When you’re mom holds you in her arms and tells you it’ll be alright. When you brother seems to hate you, but you love him all the same.

So, again I say, the perfect relationship is impossible. But a perfect love for another within that relationship is not. What are you willing to do for that love. Because if you are willing to try and make your love for another person perfect. Then I can tell you that The Hallmark Love is real. And every second of blood, sweat, tears, and smiles is worth it.
